Another Super Typhoon To Hit The Philippines

Super typhoon Megi AKA 'Juan' traumatized the Philippines with its strong winds and heavy rains. At least 27 died, 24 injured and thousands more homeless during Juan's outlash. And while super typhoon Juan has not totally left the counter, another powerful storm is brewing and is likely to enter the Philippine area or responsibility on Saturday.

PAGASA, the Philippines' weather bureau said the incoming typhoon is as strong as 'Juan' and may even follow the path of super typhoon “Juan,” which pummeled Isabela, Cagayan, the Ilocos region and Cordillera.

As of yesterday afternoon, the low pressure area was spotted 1,100 kilometers from the Philippine area of responsibility or 2,400 kilometers East of Luzon.

Once the new typhoon enters the country, it will be named “Katring” and is expected to make landfall on the 27th of October.

Initial estimates of the economic damage from the storm amounted to almost P five but this may increase since not all reports from affected areas had come in.

You can follow the current events and news for Typhoon Katring from major TV networks in the Philippines HERE.
